Cookies and local storage
In short: the public LAAFI site uses no cookies, no advertising trackers and no analytics, and it loads nothing from another site. You stay in control: the notice at the bottom of the page lets you choose "essential only" or "accept all", and you can change your mind at any time on this page.
The public site
- No cookies, from us or from anyone else.
- Your choice on the notice is remembered by your browser so as not to ask again: a single value (laafi_consent) in its local storage. It stays on your device and is never sent to our server. It is an essential item: without it, the notice would come back on every page.
- Fonts, images and scripts come from our own server: your IP address is not sent to Google or any other service to display them.
- Our host (Render) may record your IP address and the page requested in its logs, for security and troubleshooting.
- Photo credits link to Wikimedia Commons or Flickr. If you follow those links, those sites' rules apply.
The dashboard
Once you are signed in, your browser keeps a few items in its local storage (not in cookies):
- a sign-in token, to keep you signed in. It is the only item sent to our server, to identify you;
- your language and your light or dark theme;
- display preferences, such as the chosen business, the collapsed menu or the unit shown in the calendar.
These are strictly necessary for the dashboard to work. They are not used to track you. They disappear when you sign out, or from your browser's settings.
If this changes
If we ever add a non-essential cookie or a measurement tool, it will stay off until you accept it in the notice, and we will update this page.
Manage your choice
- Essential cookies: needed for the site to work. They cannot be turned off. Today the public site sets none.
- Audience measurement: no tool is used today. If we add one, you will be able to accept or refuse it here.
